Quake 4 v1.20 AVA + Tool Released

Post by OomJan »

The Quake 4 v1.20 AVA Update is now available on the Update System for all registered users. I also inlcuded a nifty little tool to help you identify the files required to play back a demo. Simply right-click on the .netdemo and select 'Scan Demo'. A screenshot below:

Im wondering... is Quake 4 1.2 with Q4Max 0.74 going to work with Seismovision 3.0 and Q4's AVA 1.2??

I tried to view Q4's old 1.1 demos from Q4Max 0.73 and it doesnt work. I tried several different things already. Having 2 q4max folders. Enabling demoenforce, disabling auto-mod detection. Having 2 Q4 game folders, each one with a different game version and q4max version.

The best result I ve gotten (having 2 q4max folders either on the same q4 game folder or on 2 separate game folders) is to have the mod load, but before the map starts loading it stops the server and restarts .... on an endless cycle that can only be stopped by killing the process.

Am I doing something wrong? :?

I am currently working on a new system for Seismovision v3.01 to make multiple mod installations and demo versions in Quake 4 a whole lot easier by letting Seismovision scan the demo and then scanning your Quake 4 to determine the correct versioned mod automatically. This is still under development but could be available very soon. The first few tests worked beautifully. This is will make demo playing in Quake 4 less a headache. I will post more information as it goes along.
